Derwent Artists colour pencils. About 4 hours on brown card 1 x 1.5 feet or 30 x 45cms. Alex Michaeletos from the film, Duma. Movie still used as a reference.
Edit: Sorry for the double upload. Scanned the image properly so now you have better qualityness :3 It's like, six scans pieced together, so it looks dodgy, but ya know, like, whateva.</edit> Why do you think I drew this scene when I have not seen the movie? n_n Sorry for the terrible quality. I wanted to photograph the drawing instead of scan it, as scanners tend to pick up stupidly small flaws, reflect differently depending on the treatment of the card due to the varying pressures of the penc... yeah stuff. So anyway stopwhiningnow. The uhh bushbaby is trying to climb inside his shirt XD |

Anyway, what shoudl I say? I'm not talking about the shadows and light cause you mastered it already xD You have done a wonderful job, and pick up a nice reference (I suppose), and, though I don't know the reference pic, you have done an excellent job bringing life to his face! he looks... well I don't find the rightest word to describe the mimic on his face, but he does look something... hmm maybe angry? frustrated? or merely proud?

I like the way you've picked a picture where the lighting isn't what it could be typically. (On the neck rather than the face), and you don't need me to tell you how impressive the pencil work is.
