Some people wanted to see some portrait speedpaintings I do for practice so I chose four I like for varying reasons and smacked them together :3 Referenced from movie snapshots n stuff
I like the top 2 cause of the expressions, they're just so amazingly well-rendered. If it weren't for the way you do clothes and hair, I'd never believe you actually painted them XP
I like the bottom right, except the top corner of his forehead is a little bright under the hair, it looks like his hair is seperate and I'm sure there should be a shadow under there somewhere.
I dunno.. I like them all to varying degrees. And sadly, I knew who each and every one of them were (except Jason Richter, but I knew which movie he was from... as well as Hutchy and Theo ).
Theodore... well he looks quite rustic. You can tell, by comparison, that that was the quickest painting, but it doesn't make it lose any of the quality. His expression is very deep, I love the colors and tones. The lighting is splendid, I love white lights like that.
And Josh, ehehe. I think this is my favorite portrait of him that you've done D: His eyes are like.. they suck you in. I like the details in the hair, the way you painted his mouth and the color of his lips. His nose is so cute! He has such a hard nose to draw, but you pretty much captured it. The lighting seems difficult in that picture, especially in the neck where they almost overlap. But yeah.. it all looks quite natural.
It's strange to see Jake without purple hair. I like the delicate color of his eyes :3 It's just a glint of it, but things like that are really awesome. It shows how much artists [should] work. I like the way his shirt kind of bunches up in the front, it gives a good hint at the rest of his pose.
Oh snap, look at them eyes! I love the highlights, they're so crisp and clean and happy (the highlights can be happy...). The nose is the bestest part of the whole picture. It has GREAT shape, FANTASTIC lighting, and it's ADOREABLE :3 *twitches*
Wow, that's incredible. I'm not sure what to say other than that. It takes me like half a day to make a portrait. To se that someone can do it in three quarters of an hour is amazing to me. They look really good too. I like the style that comes out with the "rush". They have this like undefined look to them, and the contrast comes off nicely. I'd like to see more of these if you do them.

Josh Hutchterson, through I love them all... why? hmm I especially like his hair cut! ^^" you did it very well. I like his eyes too.
hehe speed painting portrait... you are so incredible! I can barely do this with traditional tool in such short time >__<" (hmm "can barely"? I CAN'T at all!! XD )
Again, really lovely work: great shading and lightening, and also for the eyes wich looks so real. [it looks so much like photos!!! ]
His hair is wet, and so it clumps together, that means less stray strands that can give an overall soft shadow of the forehead, such as the others are doing, and that means we can see more of the forehead and because his skin is also wet the highlights are brought out. Also, having given myself a time limit, I try to stick to the most important things and go for the less important things later on. If I had allowed myself more time, I would have spent more time on refining the fringe, because it is rushed. But that's the whole idea
Thanks for being so critical instead of just enjoying them

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
