Coloured pencils are fun but they take so long... :dead:

A portrait of Cole, when he was younger. My reference was Joshua Morrell. I've been working on it since Monday. I reckon it has a good 13 or 14 hours worth because it's an A3 drawing. Of course, it looks better in real life...

As you can see, Cole didn't smile much when he was a boy, either ;p

Have you ever had one of those experiences where your work looks so real, and you can almost swear that you saw the person you drew moved?

When you told me you were drawing this, I had a feeling I'd like it was finished. I didn't know you were working in color, and when I saw your DP, I instantly fell in love with it. This is definitely my favorite drawing of Cole now.

The background you substituted is much more visually appealing to me than the original, and the greenish color does a nice job of balancing his face and hair. I'm glad you didn't go with anything darker that might have changed the mood. Also for some reason, to me, his jacket looks a little like a leather one. It makes him look like such a little bad ass. ;D

His hair is perfect! Aside from just looking awesome, the wild messy hair suits him quite well. Also, I love the reddish tint around his right cheek and on the side of his nose. It's one of those small details that I think adds a lot to the overall image. You have a way of drawing eyes in such a way that I can get lost in them. You captured the boy's gaze perfectly, and it sets a mood that I think is very Cole.

I always find the mood of your Cole portraits really interesting. They seem to have an air of seriousness that just captures me. I really like the areas you modified to make it more Cole like. To bad real people don't have purple eyes and hair; it looks so awesome. ;P

Amazing work, I love it!

Whoa that looks so awesome.

I love it when someone can make such a realistic portrait with cps, I have such a hard time with them! It looks like you sketch in different directions which I thought was a no-no, but it actually adds a better texture. Fantastic.
