Felt pen and mouse, Paint Shop Pro.
2 hour sketch, 10 hour lineart, 6 hours colouring. Whoosh. "Thou must never allow the desert man in black armour to lay his hands on the sacred Triforce... Thou must never suffer that man, with his evil heart, to enter the Sacred Realm of legend... That evil man who cast the death curse upon me and sapped my power... Because of that curse, my end is nigh... Though your valiant efforts to break the curse were successful, I was doomed before you started... Yes, I will pass away soon... But do not grieve for me... I have been able to tell you of these important matters... This is Hyrule's final hope... The future depends upon thee, Link... Thou art courageous..." I really should do this style/process more often! It was so much easier for me ;D Some of you should know the only reason I don't draw Young Link often is because I'm afraid of creating an image that lets the character down...  Yeah. Uh, Link is shiny :B Almost forgot to mention that ~laurabeth, =EtherealPanda, ~WindDragon91, and ~darkfoxprime watched me do (most of) the lineart over the webcam, and those guys rock 8D The lineart is here if you want to colour it: [link] |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. The change you did to the sword adds so much depth to this picture, I mean I could never have seen that in the lighting, and changing the color made the whole picture seem so real (if adorable anime elf boys wielding weapons of terror were real...). I'm sucked into it. The three parts of this picture that stick out the most to me are the: epic ferns; his elbow cast into the green light; and the soft gleam of his sword.
Well, I'm totally digging this style. It's got a really crisp look to it, but I like the soft edges that it has, too. Does that make sense? Probably not. But eh, I do love the shading of the ink, most especially in his clothes and boots. It all looks so much yours, but you on a different scale. ._o;
Great lighting as usual, the color is less usual than usual though. The pale yellow is very dreamy. Texture in the rock wall is amazing, I was pretty fascinated with the inking process in that. And the concept of the hollow-tree-house is portrayed awesomely XD I really like the ladder and the ibby bibby details of the folds of the curtain. Great job, yo.
