Help Needed
SympathyI am aware that what I want may not exist or is expensive or must be programmed to fit it or something like that, but I thought I may as well ask all of my lovely watchers if they had any ideas.
So basically, what I'm looking for is an interactive online map which I can draw myself in quite fine detail, with many zoom levels, text for names of places (like an atlas book), and have it easy to edit. I've scanned wikipedia articles on this sort of thing but haven't managed to find anything. Please read suggested sites carefully before telling me about them; I have already researched far and wide to find what I'm looking for. Are there any ideas out there? Any at all?

I don't know if it can do what your exactly looking for it to, but it might come close. I also believe it will work in vectors, and not pixels.

I don't know if there is anything there helpful, but you might want to take a look through it. Most of the software there is free (if memory serves me right).

My art
With flash, it would take a lot of coding. It would also take a lot of time to do what your asking.
I myself have barely begun to use flash. Hey, I can't even get an eye to blink! Well, not without going through hours long struggle with a pen tool... I'm just too lazy and get too many ideas too quickly to stick with something for that long.
I'll see about some other searches, but I have a feeling I will come up with the same stuff you have. Tucows was the only thing I knew of that you might not of.

I'll have another look through the obscure sites I have bookmarked and if I come across anything that comes close, I will let you know.
And I don't think flash would be that hard to learn, especially for something like a map; just take [link] . It looks complicated, but really it just seems to be a few, "When I click this, have this pop up" commands. You could make something like that for each area in your world, and just have it get progressively closer as you select the area you would like to see. Then maybe a button on the side to return to the full-scale map.
I doubt it would be hard at all. :3

These guys [link] used google maps to create a custom map. Not sure how they did it, or how easy it is.
